<IMG SRC="../graphics/tab5.gif" HEIGHT="1" WIDTH="34">Richard Bronson,
President of Mirage's New
City Development subsidiary, spoke enthusiastically
about the forthcoming "Second Wave"
of casino development during our recent installation
ceremony. As Mr. Bronson spoke to over 100 mainland business
leaders on this great entertainment mecca being proposed for
Atlantic City, one could feel the anticipation and excitement
building within us all. The days of cynical comments like
"You have killed the goose that laid the golden egg" are finally
gone.
<P>
<IMG SRC="../graphics/tab5.gif" HEIGHT="1" WIDTH="34">Atlantic City's future certainly looks promising. As you may
recall during the casino referendum days, there was a promise
of the "rippling effect" that would occur with legalized
gaming in Atlantic City. For the mainland this promise was
fulfilled and today we begin to understand the potential
opportunities that the "Second-Wave" will afford us. We've been there!
We've done that!
<P>
<IMG SRC="../graphics/tab5.gif" HEIGHT="1" WIDTH="34">Today, we are
more experienced in addressing regional growing pains and
perhaps more realistic in our expectations. We see opportunities for
what they are not as guarantees of success and prosperity. The
"Second-Wave" is just as exciting as the initial wave. The only
difference is we are older and wiser, but I think more confident in
our own ability to secure a bright future for the mainland.
